Academic Approach

In its report “New Vision for Education: Fostering Social and Emotional Learning Through Technology,” the World Economic Forum identified several literacies, competencies, and character qualities essential for students to excel in the 21st century.

Our Methodology for the Future World Citizens Programme and Year-Round STEM Lessons for Groups: The CLIL Approach

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) involves teaching subjects through a foreign language, in our case – English. This approach means students learn about a subject while simultaneously improving English language skills.

When learners are interested in a subject, they are motivated to acquire the language they need. Learning is improved through greater motivation and the study of natural language seen in real-world contexts. CLIL encourages students to engage in natural and meaningful language acquisition.

On our summer school programme, Future World Citizens, international students work together with British students on interactive and engaging, enquiry-based projects delivered by experienced and qualified subject teachers, trained in CLIL.

This intensive and immersive summer school programme of structured lessons, supervised activities and inspiring excursions and study tours means every part of the day provides an opportunity for learning and practice. During breaks, meals, activities and excursions, students will continue practising their English and experience British culture.
