Ed Gentle is the Director of the Science Academy at The Mountbatten School, where he oversees STEM education initiatives and international programme delivery. He creates and delivers innovative science curricula and leadership development programmes while fostering a passion for scientific exploration and critical thinking among students.
During his time in education, Ed has been recognised for his contributions to STEM outreach as a Space Advocate for the National Space Academy. He is also a graduate of the Institute of Physics Teacher Educator Programme, further enhancing his expertise in physics education and teacher development. His role is delivered as part of an international programme focused on advancing STEM education, ensuring students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for future scientific and technological advancements.
Ed was previously an Infantry Officer in the British Army for 16 years, where he helped to develop high-performing teams, lead complex operations and mentor future leaders. With 12 years of teaching experience, he combines his leadership background with a deep passion for education, inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators.
