Ollie Woods – Computer Science Coordinator

As Computer Science Coordinator, Ollie designs real-world curricula, leads enrichment including eSports and runs workshops to spark curiosity and build digital confidence.

Ollie Woods is the Coordinator of Computer Science at The Mountbatten School. He is passionate about making Computing accessible and enjoyable for everyone while also instilling curiosity in those with a particular interest or talent in the subject. 

During his time at The Mountbatten School, Ollie has created relevant and engaging Computing schemes of work that have real world links while preparing students for further study and for using computers in the future. He values the importance of enrichment activities, running the Bebras competition every year as well a number of extra curricular activities including the first Mountbatten eSports team, currently competing in the Williams Student Racing League. At his previous school he was responsible for shaping the school’s use of educational technology, including training staff to deliver meaningful remote lessons during the Covid pandemic. Ollie regularly works with the charity Digit<all> to deliver Computing workshops for young learners. Before embarking on his teaching career he worked for Apple, giving him an invaluable insight into the latest technological innovations. He is also a keen musician.
